Pass the IR
I’ve been kicking around the idea of playing around with an IR pass filter. Come to find out, my Evolt E-300 is one of the more IR sensitive DSLRs out there, too. This is pretty exciting, because I wasn’t sure if I was ready to invest yet another camera. Now, I need to pick a filter. Have any of you had any experience with IR pass filters? I’m looking for something, I think, in the 850nm range, but I’m not 100% sure. I can’t seem to find documentation about what wavelengths of IR my camera is sensitive to, nor am I sure what effects will be generated by filtering out which wavelengths of IR. I’ve seen a few filters that filter anything beyond 720nm right down to 900nm. Do any of you have any experience with IR photography? if you have any ideas, let me know, please.
