Really BAD news :(
So, I’ve been in and out of the doctor’s office a lot over the past couple weeks. Yesterday, I went to my eye doctor again, and to my general practitioner’s office.
So, as it turns out, the retina in my right eye is too thin in the upper right corner of my eye. What does that mean? It means I’m at an increased risk for a detatched retina. The good news is that it’s not bad enough to require surgery, yet.
Also, it turns out that I am already developing cataracts. Yah, not even 30 yet, I know. So, by the time I’m 45-ish, I’ll need to have cataract surgery on both eyes.
Also … my general practitioner diagnosed me w/ hypertension, extremely high triglycerides, and type 2 diabetes. I’m on medication for the triglycerides, and the diabetes. We’re going to keep an eye on the numbers and see if I have to start something for the blood pressure.
On a side note, it took me almost 30 minutes and many many finger pricks to figure out how to test my sugar this morning. Pretty much all of my finger tips are numb, now. I also had to go to the blood lab again today so they can test my a1c. It took them several tries to get an artery on me (that never happens to me, it’s always ont he first try). So, I’ve been pricked so much recently to draw blood, that I’m starting to get track marks.
So, yah, needless to say, this has me a little depressed.
