We moved the Dogs in last weekend. I haven’t had a good night’s sleep since. They’re not thrilled about the cats, and I don’t know how to get both groups of animals to play nice.

One of the cats bit me yesterday. I was bleeding out of the tip of my giner, and out of the top joint in my finger. It’s pretty muc ok, it just still hurts, and I can’t really bend it any more.

I had some more plumbing related issues recently. Mostly with a shower, and I still have a sink to fix. But the water softener is in and it’s working. It’s making a big difference.

I worked form home yesterday to get my care serviced (long over-due), and to get some paperwork taken care of at town hall. Namely, I had to get a tax abatement form, to sign up for and pay for trash pick-up, to register to vote, and to get some other little odds and ends. I also changed my address w/ work, the post office, and the bank. I still need to get that done w/ the reigstry.

Our water bed got broken. Mostly, it was my fault. I let the cats into the master bedroom before the dogs moved in, and I had forgotten to zip the matress up one day while I was at work (I had opened it so I could start filling the cylinders). One of the cats inside of it, and decided to make herself a little nest out of the lining and the tubes. So, now we had to order a new bed (last weekend). It’s being delivered today.

Anyway, gotta run. I’ll try to post more, soon.

Now I just need to wait 2 or 3 days for the fresh concrete to dry, and I can finish installing the water softner. In the meantime, the house’s plumbing is now in good working order and I can start having people over and not have to worry about folks using the plumbing. The water will just still be hard.

Hooray!

Actually, plumbing the new house. I’ve been doing a lot of plumbing work @ the house. In fact, Saturday, I spent 12 hours running new pipes. Tomorrow, I rent a jack hammer to install a new drain in the utility room (house is on a slab, I need to cut into it).
This should be interesting.

BTW on the honey moon, I got stop by 2 breweries. We visitted Magic Hat and Long Trail, Magic hat gave me free samples … I enjoyed most of their beers, but I have to say, the one that surprised me the most was Roxie Rolles. ILm not too crazy about beers that are over the top hopsy, but the maltiness of this one really balances the hopsiness well.
I also had the sampler @ Long Trail, which helped remind me that I’m not crazy for their Double Bag. But all in all both experiences were good. I also thought to snapba shot of the sampler at Long Trail (attached here).

So, our honey moon was nice. We had a pretty good time and got do a lot of the things we wanted to, despite both of us getting pretty sick half way through. We also had to cut the trip short because her mom was pretty sick. In fact I am writing this update from a hospital room in Boston. We also still haven’t been able to finalize the closing on the house. The new septic system is in, but we are waiting on the final stamp of approval from the town before the title V certificate is good. Even though we had alredy signed some papers early last week in preparation, I suspect that is taking long enough that those will be shredded and we’ll sign new papers. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer though, because I have a feeling we will need to have her mom move into our house with us. She’s resisting a little, but she’s not really in any shape to be on her own.
The good news is, she still has a little more time. We brought her to the ER near home Friday night and they promptly put her on an ambulance and shipped her to the ER in Boston. Things didn’t look so good, but after they drained about 2.5 liters of fluid from her lungs in the ICU, she looks much better. So hereLs to hoping to a couple more good month’s

I’m getting really freakin annoyed. And particularly with the town of Freetown. They have been the source of the last couple delays.

I don’t know what to do. It’s really starting to iritate me, and I’ve got half a mind to just call the whole thing off.

sorry, I just needed to rant.

This could either be a really good idea that ends up presenting a lot of good learning / teacing opportunities, but it rasily descend into chaos and set a bad precedent. I’m curious to see how it goes, and I’m hoping for the best.
